As a musician, music theory allows you to achieve freedom. You can benefit from these lessons whether you play piano, the guitar, percussion, voice, or any other melodic instrument. It will benefit you just as well in any style you play –Whether classical, jazz, or pop (or anything else).
If you are interested in private lessons, please submit the form on this page. I will reply with further information and my suggestions. I teach musicians at all levels:
Online Lessons take place over Zoom. For Piano lessons, I use specialized software that allows you to see me, my hands, and the keyword.
Also, I encourage you to do lessons on a computer with an external camera pointed at the keyboard – Most feedback can be given with just sound, but the view of the keys and hands allows me to correct fingering and technique as well.
If you are a new student, we will start with an initial check-in, which involves answering several questions over email. Based on these questions I will be able to get a sense of where you are in your studies.
I will provide you with email lesson plans based on the discussions of the lesson and the goals of the assignments. The email lesson plan includes:
You’ll find my teaching style to be very friendly and personalized but focused.
To make each lesson more engaging and give you better results, I focus on the styles, goals, and music you love using 3 milestones of musical mastery.
I’ve been teaching for many years and have taught dozens of students, tailoring to the needs of each one. Many have loved their results and have progressed tremendously in short periods of time. They are able to understand how to introduce musicality into their music and use music theory. They have improved their playing and hearing using ear training, and can now improvise and create in ways they’ve never thought they could before.
